Bayede Shaka The Spear is born, an Internationally acclaimed musical written and directed by Edmund Mhlongo, performed by an international acclaimed cast K-cap Alive Kids from KwaMashu. Bayede Shaka is one of the most successful theatre Musical piece produced by Edmund Mhlongo .

The production has been a hit locally and internationally from 1999 till 2003. Through its successful runs Locally and international and a huge public demand the production was reproduced in 2006 ..It was staged at the Playhouse in July 2006 now featuring the best South African Film actor and the recipient of the Golden Plums Awards at SABC 3 in 2006 .

Henry Cele made his entry in the Film industry by Playing a lead character of King Shaka Zulu in Shaka Zulu tv series which became popular world wide.

Henry Cele then played a lead role in movies like Inkomo edla yodwa, Ipi ntombi, The ghost and the darkness, Tropical heat ,Ifa lakwaMthethwa, Freedom fighter and may more. His involvement contributed in making a huge success at the Playhouse.

All the shows including pubic and school shows were sold out. This production is entertaining and educating the nation about the founder of the Might Zulu Nation.Bayed Shaka was also having a mix audience in terms of race and age group. The production was also having new comer actors ,singers and dancers which made the production different and more powerful from the its first version.
